Senator Lindsey Graham faces Judgement Day!

🎀 Transcript (en) ⏱ 83s

"Lindsay Graham, today is Judgment Day! Oh my, what happened? I was just at home spending a quiet evening. Oh, I know what you are doing, Lindsay. Oh no, does that mean I'm gonna be punished for all of time for being a closet of gay man? No, dumbass, love is love, but you did everything in your power to hurt other people in the LGBTQ community. But God, I was totally pro-life. Shouldn't that count for something? Lindsay, you said that a nine-year-old rape victim should carry the pregnancy to term. Then you cut access to food, housing, education, and financial support to help women and children. But God, I stood with your people, the Israelis, for decades. No, you stood with Benjamin Netanyahu. There's a difference. He is committing genocide with American weapons that you helped him procure. Oh no, does this mean I'm going to hell because of my love for power and greed? There is no hell, you dumbass, but everybody does have a job up here. I'm assigning you to clean the bathrooms of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Harriet Tubman, and Catherine Hepburn for all of eternity. Well, that doesn't sound too bad. Maybe I can find my friend Charlie Kirk if he's got the same job. I didn't finish my sentence. You will only be equipped with your tongue. Now be off, you sorry sack of shit."

Perimenopause symptoms can start before your periods become irregular. Brain fog, hot flashes, mood changes, and poor sleep are often caused by hormonal changesβ€”not something you have to simply accept. With the right care, you can feel your best. πŸ‘‰ www.westsidewomenshealth.com

🎀 Transcript (en) ⏱ 69s

"Perimenopause is a complicated topic. Basically, it refers to the five to ten years before a woman has her final menstrual period and during this time there are very erratic changes in a woman's estrogen production. The ovaries are really fluctuating in their production of hormones and this is part of what leads to the chaos in our body as we are transitioning to becoming postmenopausal. So we will see some of the typical symptoms, hot flashes, night sweats, but some women will have irregular periods. Sometimes they'll be really heavy and other times they'll be very light. Women may experience sleep disturbance, she may have brain fog, trouble with memory, she may have mood changes. It's important to be aware of all of these changes and to get some education from someone who can really give you an in-depth look at what to expect and what might be happening with your body. Rest assured there are treatments to help you, both hormonal and non-hormonal. If you give us a call, come in, book a consultation, we will be happy to help you with all of this."

"Here are three websites no one talks about. First, it's this website. And here you can get temporary phone numbers to receive SMS online. And it's not just US numbers, they have numbers from a bunch of different countries. So let's say you're signing up for something and it requires a UK or Canada number. I'll choose UK so simply click on it. And here you'll see it has 2658 numbers available. So choose any number. See it, paste it in and get the verification code for free. Second is this website. And here it's basically a huge collection of useful internet links. Everything is organized into categories like books, websites, politics, cooking, and a lot more. So for example, choose any links that seems interesting. For example, I'll pick the 25 most important recipes of the past 100 years. And it'll take you straight to that link. And this is basically like a shortcut to useful parts of the internet. And you can also search directly. Third is this website. And this website polishes your writing. So let's say you wrote an essay and want to check it before submitting. Simply paste it in. Choose the education level, type of paper, and click get free report. It automatically checks grammar, spelling, writing style, sentence structure, and clarity. So you can fix everything before turning it in. Follow for more useful websites."

World Cup matches have highlighted deeply entrenched anti-Black racist ideas, including from leaders of different countries. Many of the countries playing in this World Cup lived for centuries under White European colonial rule.

🎀 Transcript (en) ⏱ 114s

"Millions of fans globally are united in watching their respective countries in the World Cup tournament. But the games have also highlighted deeply entrenched anti-black attitudes. Many of the countries playing in this World Cup lived for centuries under European colonial rule. And races and exploitive practices and attitudes against black and brown people didn't end with independence. In Argentina, historians point to a 19th-century campaign under President Sarmiento called Blanqueamiento that wiped out the Afro-Argentine population through methods that included segregation and medical neglect during raging outbreaks and forcing them to serve on the military's front lines. This form of genocide is one the country has spent more than 100 years trying to erase from its national memory, modern-day anti-immigrant sentiment in a number of European countries, as well as Argentina and the United States, further perpetuates these attitudes today. Kylian Mbappe was criticized by Paraguayan Senator Celeste Amarillo following France's victory over Paraguay. Senator Amarillo posted a series of disparaging messages on X and Instagram targeting Mbappe's African heritage, education, and identity. Her comments included calling him a brute who never learned to write and claimed he, quote, sucked on coconuts, end quote, instead of breast milk. And FIFA is now investigating alleged racial slurs being hurled at YouTuber I Show Speed during a match between Argentina and Cape Verde. This kind of behavior has been ongoing. FIFA for years has faced criticism over how it has handled racial tensions during events. They have now launched hashtag No Racism on social media, backed by the sport's biggest stars."

This initiative supports Georgia's House Bill 1009 and the expectations outlined in the DeKalb County School District Code of Student Conduct. To provide a consistent learning experience, DeKalb County is implementing the initiative across all grade levels, kindergarten through 12th grade. By limiting the use of personal electronic devices during the school day, students have greater opportunities to engage in classroom instruction, collaborate with peers, build stronger relationships with teachers, and remain focused on learning. Together we are creating safer, more connected, and distraction-free learning environments where every student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Disconnect to Reconnect. How can we make sure that all of our schools and the school choices that we're giving is well and strong in all of our communities within our city? Student culture and climate and student well-being or our students feeling safe, a sense of joy and belonging when they enter into our schools. "It's never been about morality and it's never been about the Bible, it has always been about racism. Evangelicals didn't care about things like abortion, they cared about things like segregation in their schools. After the 1954 Brown vs. the Board of Education decision, white Christians refused to integrate. They delayed their public school systems from doing it. They also founded segregation academies under the banner of private Christian school to make sure that their children didn't have to go to school with black students. Widespread integration in the public school system wasn't enforced until the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and then the eventual Supreme Court decision in 1969, Alexander vs. Holmes. Because Jerry Falwell in the 70s, a founder of one of these segregation academies, preached from the pulpit how the Bible says they have the right to segregate and separate the races, that this was a violation of biblical teaching and also a violation of religious liberties. Because abortion passed at this time with full support from the Southern Baptist Convention and the Dallas Theological Seminary. The Southern Baptist Convention released three church-wide edicts supporting the passage of road that a woman does in fact have complete bodily autonomy and the right to privacy in her medical decisions. They were all about it. Later on, Paul Weirich would say he tried to get people to vote around abortion or gay rights and they wouldn't bite until they started to force desegregation of segregation academies in the 70s. And especially when the IRS came to Bob Jones University because of their discriminatory admissions practices and their ban on interracial dating and took away their tax-exempt status because they were violating the civil rights of black people. When Bob Jones lost that tax-exempt status, it changed the whole conversation. It enraged white evangelicals to start to push against it, saying it was a violation of their religious freedom, and they knew that they couldn't keep that spark going forever. So Paul Weirich, Jerry Falwell, and Francis Schaeffer collaborated together to make the issue about abortion, gay rights, and anti-feminism when really the core of their teaching was to be able to segregate schools because if the desegregation had never happened, they would never have come after the social issues that they supported up until that point. Bob Jones University, by the way, kept that interracial dating ban until the year 2000. They just recently got their tax-exempt status back. This has always been about racism, it has always been about money, it has always been about the right to choose to be a bigot."

"Black, white, yellow, red. But most people will spend their whole lives stuck between black and white. Black is nigredo. Grief, depression, confusion, loss. The dark night of the soul. The ugly crying and the 3am reeling. Black is the beginning. Darkness is the first invitation to take the next step to white. White is albedo. The light after a long period of darkness. The illumination. But that bit of light is the reason that most people stay stuck here because they mistake it for the end. Illumination is not enlightenment and enlightenment is not something you achieve but that's a whole other video. Let me know in the comments if you want that one. An example of a person stuck in albedo is someone who learned something on the internet and then lords it over everybody's heads as if they knew it their whole life. The person who thinks that they've healed because they've understood a pattern about themselves or about their past or about their childhood trauma and basically assume that the work now is done. And sooner rather than later they just repeat the old patterns. Patterns that they learned so much about. If you're an alchemist and you reach the white then you know that the next stage is yellow. Yellow is citrinitas. The experimentation and the education. Embodiment and contextualization. Putting to the test everything that we've learned. Making different choices whenever we get the chance. Learning about something or having new ideas and then doing research about them to see who else is talking about them. What else they're saying. Who else has thought of this and can reading their thoughts change my own? This is the long path of integrating knowledge into understanding so that we reach the red. Rubedo. Creation and offering. Rubedo is the end that is just the beginning. The beginning of an era where we live easily with our new found wisdom. Our philosophy towards life and our chosen narratives actually change. And we prepare ourselves to deal in new ways with the next nigredo. The next blackening. We take the things that we've learned and understood and embodied and know that work for us and we share them. And the biggest setback here for people is that like those that stay stuck in albedo they mistake it for the end. For enlightenment. Remember alchemy is turning lead into gold and in the black we had a lump of lead that via the process going through black, white, yellow then finally red we transformed that lead into gold and what people will do is hoard the gold. Horde their understanding and become condescending towards those that they deem unenlightened. Giving away the gold means teaching instead of preaching. It means knowing when to share what we know and how. It means making contact without seeking conquest. It means wanting to connect without needing to understand everything. Knowing that we can't understand everything and that everyone is entitled to their own mystery to their own obscurity. Those are the four stages of the alchemical process and if you saw yourself in one of them let me know below which one. If you want to learn a little more and see what stage you're in check out my free assessment."

Wakefield students are pushing for an official APS pickleball league. Coach PJ Park makes a compelling case for this resource-neutral pilot at the Arlington County School Board public comment. #Pickleball #APS #StudentLeadership #ArlingtonSchools #Education

🎀 Transcript (en) ⏱ 110s

"I am here tonight alongside student leaders from Wakefield, Washington Liberty, and Yorktown to formally present a proposal to establish an official APS Intramural Pickleball League for the upcoming school year. Pickleball is no longer just a backyard game. It is a booming community-driven sport greatly enjoyed by hundreds of youth across Arlington County in their free time. Right now, our students are already playing this sport inside our schools. At Wakefield, physical education teacher, Ashley Rickman runs an incredibly popular pickleball unit. The students absolutely love it, and the moment that unit ends, they're asking how they can keep playing. Because there was no official school framework, our students took initiative. For the last three years, they have competed in this student-organized Virginia High School Pickleball League, managing matches entirely on Instagram. At Wakefield alone, 64 students came out to play in the last season. These students have the passion. They already own the paddles and balls. They have faculty sponsors, and outdoor courts already exist at Walter Reed, Hayes, and Marcy Road. What they need now is structure. By establishing Pickleball as an official intramural sport, APS can provide the vital facilitation these students deserve, including a centralized hub model so players from HB Woodlawn and Arlington Tech can fully participate. This pilot program is 100% resource-neutral, if necessary. It requires zero dollars in new athletic funding, but it will deliver a massive win for student mental health, physical fitness, and inclusivity. We have provided our full proposal to the clerk, and we respectfully request that you direct staff to authorize this intramural pilot for the upcoming school year. Thank you."

🎀 Transcript (en) ⏱ 63s

"Today I'm going to be showing you guys a total hack to figure out your exact values of your special triangles using just your fingers. Okay, so first thing we're going to need to assign angles to our fingers. Thumb is going to be zero, index is going to be 30, 45, 60, then 90. And we are going to use these formulas right here in the top left. So for example, let's say you want to do sine of 30. Put up your hand, 30 is represented by the index finger. You put that index finger down. How many fingers do I have below that one? Just one. So I'm going to take the square root of one. Square root of one is one. And I'm just going to write one over two. Boom, you're done. Let's say I want to do cosine of 30. Again, I put my index finger down. How many do I have above this time? That's going to be the square root of three. So you just write square root of three over two. Boom, you're done again. Last one, tangent of 30. Put your index finger down again. We're going to do the square root of below versus above. Below is going to be the square root of one. Above is going to be the square root of three. That's going to be one over root three. Just like that. You'll never have to draw your special triangles ever again using this hack because you'll have them right here on your fingers. Follow and like us for more tips from a tutor."

Last week on State of The States, Ken McCool told @joesudbay.bsky.social how education is one of the top issues he's hearing while knocking doors in NC HD 105. To learn more: kenmccool.com

🎀 Transcript (en) ⏱ 153s

"What are you hearing when you're knocking doors now? What are the issues that are front and center for the folks in District 105? Yeah, I love local government because we were the folks that people saw at the gas station, the grocery store, the coffee shop. Yeah, you're on the front lines. You hear from people every day. I do want to... I made this joke. The first ever time I went canvassing, I had one volunteer. It was myself. I went canvassing by myself when I first ran for office. And now we have a lot of volunteers, so I'm very grateful for that. But the doors have been really interesting and we've heard a lot of consistent things. I think first and foremost, people are exhausted of the political chaos. And especially in this district, there's not a lot of constituent services being given by my opponent. So people want to see their elected officials. So it's good to do that. But when we talk about issues that are affecting folks here, you talk about the economy, everyone's getting squeezed. This is an area that home values and prices have exploded and there's a lot of people moving here. So there's a lot of excitement with that, but also the people who have been here are really getting squeezed. And so we talk about the economy, making sure that we have affordable housing, making sure that we're keeping the pressure on to the developers to build good projects so people can afford it. And then I think the biggest thing I've heard consistently is education. My opponent was the architect of the voucher program that has pulled dollars and cents away from public schools and put it into private schools' hands. I'm for school choice, but that money needs to be spent on our public schools. We have some of the lowest paid teachers in the country. We have some of the lowest education investment in the country. And for a state that is top five consistently in business, we are consistently bottom five in education. And so I've been working really hard on saying that we need to dismantle this voucher program. We need to make sure we put money in the pockets of our teachers and give them the resources so our students have the best way to thrive. It's really interesting what we've heard from people. I had a really interesting conversation a few weeks back. I knocked on a door in Mint Hill, which is in the district, and someone answered the door. And I always ask a question first. I said, what's the top issue for you? I don't talk to them about myself first. I ask them, what's the issue that you care about most? This person said, teacher pay. I was a teacher and I had to leave because I could not support my family anymore. And she went into private nannying. And so we had good people who are trained to be teachers who cannot financially make it work to be a teacher here. That is fundamentally broken and I believe something that needs to be adequately fixed when I'm elected to the state legislature."

"And we would not have Donald Trump as president if it weren't for Mitch McConnell. Because all Mitch McConnell would have had to do is follow traditional procedures on the court. And all Mitch McConnell would have had to do is stick to his guns regarding his assessment of Trump's culpability for January 6th and pushed ahead with that impeachment and then convicted him. Would have just taken a few votes. He was the guy who made the decision. The fact that Donald Trump is president now, that a million people have died because there's no foreign aid, and then several million more will die, that there's a war in Iran, that Ukraine has been betrayed, that nobody is getting the full support that they need on healthcare or veterans aid, that they're destroying the Department of Education, et cetera, et cetera. All the corruption, you can trace it to a decision Mitch McConnell made, not to push for Trump's conviction."
