"Trump is planning on taking the cherry blossom area and turning it into a golf course. I'm not kidding. Construction on this is due to start September 1st. He's just gonna knock these cherry blossoms down that were a gift from Japan and have been here for over a hundred years. Because we need a golf course. Another one. Taking public land where there's fishing, recreation for the people. And there's a really funny thing he's trying to do. Because in 1897, a congressional act established the East Potomac Park, this area, for the people, recreation and pleasure of the people. So they have to go in front of a judge to figure this out. But literally a congressional act has happened given the people this park to enjoy and he's going to turn it into a golf course. How do we know that? Well, he said it in this super long winded thing, which honestly I see these and I just get tired so I don't read them. Well, it takes me time. First I get overwhelmed and then whatever. Anyway, so there's a golf course there. East Potomac Golf Links, okay? It's a three par little course. He wants to take it and turn it into a 18 hole world champion golf course where we could have the tournaments. I, and we can see based on this new plan that it will take over 50 acres of public land to make this golf course. Because right now it's three courses and he wants to turn it into one single giant golf course while using public lands and destroying the cherry blossoms. I love when they just walk around with the plans out. Like they don't even have a folder where they can protect it so we don't see all this. Anyway, this is just devastating. Walking under these cherry blossoms is truly magical. If you've never done it, I mean, I guess get there before September 1st. "The Invisible Ninja Fight Club is one of my favorite metaphors for explaining my experience as an autistic person. If you're neurodivergent, I think you'll find it really helpful too. Imagine that you wake up one day and find that you've been given a lifetime membership to the Invisible Ninja Fight Club. And what this means is that 10 times a day, an invisible ninja will jump out and fight you. This makes your life a lot more challenging because there's a lot of things that you might want to do, but you have to fight a ninja to be able to do them. And even when you're not actively fighting a ninja, you are still exhausted and injured from all of the past ninja battles that you had to go through that day. This is basically what it feels like when you're an autistic person trying to exist in a world made for neurotypical needs. You are constantly fighting invisible ninjas of sensory overwhelm, executive functioning limitations, social challenges, all sorts of things that you have to deal with every day that a neurotypical person doesn't. Here's the takeaway. I really hope you listen to this. If you did have to fight 10 ninjas a day, you would realize that it's not fair to compare yourself to the standard set by people who don't have to fight those ninjas. Yeah, sure, you might not accomplish quite as much as somebody who doesn't have to fight the ninjas, but you know what? They don't have to fight the ninjas. You might need a little more recovery time than somebody who doesn't have to fight the ninjas. But again, they don't have to fight the ninjas. In the same way, it's not fair for you to compare yourself to a neurotypical standard because they don't have to deal with the challenges that you have to deal with as an autistic person in a neurotypical world. Also, if you really did have to fight 10 ninjas a day, you'd want those fights to be as easy as possible. So you'd get body armor, martial arts training, maybe recruit a couple of friends to help you in the battle. In the same way, you wanna have the struggles of autistic life be as easy for you as they can be, and that means looking for strategies that you can learn and apply, finding supports, people who can help you. Those small steps might not make a big difference at first, but over time, you can make it so that the different things in your life that are struggles for you are maybe still hard, but not nearly as hard as they are today. So the next time you're feeling burned out or you got self-critical thoughts running through your mind, just remember, you're fighting some tough ninjas, it's not fair for you to compare yourself to a neurotypical person who isn't fighting those ninjas, and you're smarter than the ninjas. You're gonna figure out a strategy that will help you over time get better at better at fighting these ninjas and building the life that you want. "I don't eat red meat, so I'm okay. We know that it's more complicated than that. It's not just red meat. It's not just the fat. For nearly 50 years, we were told that the primary cause of heart disease was saturated fat and cholesterol, and that leaner meats, lower-fat dairy products, and egg whites were the solution. But the research now shows that the other inflammatory compounds in animal foods, like those that can impair athletic recovery, also play a significant role in the development of heart disease. We're gonna do a whole lot better by just getting rid of the animal products, and there are really good biochemical reasons for that. Heme iron is one of them, for example. Heme iron is from an animal source, right? So, most commonly, you think red meat, even though poultry have it, fish has it. They did a meta-analysis looking over six prospective dietary studies, over 130,000 patients, and they came to the conclusion that one milligram a day of heme iron is associated with a 27% increasing risk of coronary heart disease. To put that in perspective, an average hamburger patty has about two to three milligrams. And it isn't just the iron in animal foods that can cause problems. It's actually the animal protein itself. It's not just red meat, not just chicken, not just eggs, not just milk. It's the ingestion of any animal protein. At that moment in time, a process begins."

"It's 3 a.m. Let's come run a few miles this morning. We're running across America. We've got the USA pants, red shirt, USA socks, and our flag. We're about to get the runner and let's do it. We got water. Good amount of people here. We're starting to run. Why am I doing this? You may be wondering. 20 days ago, starting in California, a few people set off to carry the flag across America to Washington, DC by the 4th of July, the 250th anniversary. And they ran right by my house and I wanted to be a part of it. So I woke up at 3 a.m. with their tracker and had a tracker from where they've been running for the last 20 days. And this is 24-7 non-stop. Every few miles, there's new people picking up the flag and it's like a relay and this is how they're gonna make it all the way to Washington, DC by July 4th. It was so cool to meet people, to see everybody running, and it was so late, but my small little town showed up to support and they had an amazing time. And I ended up running about three miles in five days. I started three miles away from my house and ran right to my house as they were going right by. And you could see the support was crazy and we were able to run with 10 to 15 people who have been doing this for the last few days as well. Good running with you guys. Keep it going. It's 5 a.m. and that is a wrap. We just took a shower and we're ready to go back to bed. That was absolutely insane."
